Leitu, a kind of cured activated fiber culture soil, is a new environmental building auxiliary material invented by Dr Qi Zhiyong and his team. It can grow plants as it is not only a container but also a kind of soil.

Leitu can provide the best ecological conditions for the plants and has extensive application potential. It has advantages of aeration, drainage, moisture retention, plasticity and lightness of weight. These factors make Leitu a solution to the problem of planting on tall buildings, viaducts, or for roof greening. It also overcomes the obstacle of hard soil.

Leitu can greatly improve the plant growth environment, growth cycle, and production efficiency. It can increase yield by 20 percent and the fertilizer utilization rate by 30 percent. Moreover, the material has flexible shapes.

The research and development of Leitu took the team four years and finally brought huge economic benefits. Now the product has fully spread out in Changsha and is widely used in urban greening in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta regions.
